Likely. Meets broad definition of automobile in Insurance Act given that it is self propelled.
Also, "farm tractor" specifically defined in Motor Vehicle Act
as "motor vehicle designed and used primarily as a farm
implement…." However, permitted use on highway with "slow moving
"sign/emblem.
MacKay v. Norwich Union (1978), 29 N.S.R. (2d) 386 (C.A.):
court noted that a tractor was clearly an automobile under policy
but was not of the private passenger type for the purposes of
exclusion of third party liability. Cited with approval in
Slaunwhite.
Again, in certain circumstances, there could be coverage by
homeowners liability policy.
